“ You can do it right, or you can do it twice.”

Our Foundation Since 1972

Practical Inspections was established by Ed Spriggs in response to his extensive experience of over 25 years in the tank industry. With a commitment to quality and accountability, Ed laid the foundation for a company guided by the principle instilled in him by his father: "You can do it right or you can do it twice." This ethos shapes our approach to every task we undertake.

In 2004, After growing up in the business, Eds’ son Joe Spriggs joined the team, contributing his expertise across inspections, maintenance, and repairs for tanks, treatment plants, and pump stations. His dedication was interrupted by military service from 2010, during which he honed additional skills and experiences. Upon his return in 2016, Joe became a partner in the company, ultimately assuming ownership in 2021.

  • Under Joe's leadership, Practical Inspections underwent a strategic rebranding to Midwest Tank Management. This transformation reflects our evolution beyond inspections, embracing a comprehensive suite of services. While our name may have changed, our commitment to exceptional service remains unwavering.

Looking ahead, we're excited to welcome Calvin, Ed's youngest son to the team as head of our Cyber Security Department. With a background in the Air Force and the U.S. Secret Service, Calvin brings invaluable expertise to fortify our commitment to technology and digital security.

At MTM, we combine decades of industry experience with forward-thinking innovation to ensure the resilience and reliability of critical water infrastructure. We are proud to be your trusted partner in safeguarding the future of water management
